Used Boat Sales History > SOLD O'day Rhodes 19 Keel Sailboat $5,800 Located in ME (1)
The seller writes, "This boat is a late 60's or early 70's model and has been restored inside and out by me, the owner, w/ some help from a local boatyard as a project and my labor of love for the Rhodes 19 design. I owned one as a young man and happened upon this hull which needed a complete go-over from stem to stern. Except for the floor timbers, she was structurally sound and intact. The original timbers were removed. Replacement oak timbers were installed. The keel was removed, sand blasted, and reattached w/ new keel bolts by the boat yard. Floorboards were repaired or replaced, painted gray, and re-installed over the new timbers. She also needed a lot of TLC work. I painted the boat's topsides, hull, bottom, and keel. The inside was paint free, so it was thoroughly cleaned and left original. Specifically, the hull was painted white; and and the topsides, blue. The hull bottom and keel were epoxy barrier coated and anti-fouling bottom painted in blue. The cockpit mahogany coamings were stripped and varnished. As the boat work progressed, I also secured a replacement mast and boom, rudder and tiller, and a new set of sails. The boat is now complete. The mast has new standing rigging and running rigging. A 3.5 hp long shaft Nissan motor is included with the boat. I am motivated to sell. This Rhodes 19 looks good and is ready to go sailing!"
